Banana Bungalow is located directly ON San Diego's popular Pacific Beach. We are so centrally located that almost all of San Diego's area attractions can be reached by foot or a short bus ride. FUN BEACH BREAKS right in front of the hostel. No bus, taxi or car is needed to eat or drink at over 150 bars, clubs, restaurants and eateries. Supermarkets and health food stores on our doorstep will enable you to keep on budget with healthy eating at the Banana Bungalow.
Shop till you drop in Pacific Beaches fabulous boutiques. Stroll down the boardwalk to Belmont Park and ride San Diego's famous wooden rollercoaster. Rent a bike and cruise up to La Jolla for breathtaking views. Surf, swim sunbathe and play within steps of your bed. There is no other hostel location that can offer such accessibility to all of San Diego's attractions.
The Banana Bungalow Youth Hostel has many amenities to ensure all guests enjoy their stay at the beach. One of Banana Bungalow's most widely used amenities is our enormous deck that overlooks the beach - the best place for people watching, enjoying San Diego's spectacular sunsets, checking out surf conditions, and grilling on our large BBQ grill. This is where our hostels nightly parties take place and travelers enjoy meeting each other. Every Thursday we offer free hot dogs and on Wednesdays you can enjoy our $1 cheese burgers (we offer both meat and veggie). Our hostels themed parties are always a big hit.

This property is located near Mission Beach. One of the most consistent spots in San Diego. Sandy bottom with plenty of uncrowded peaks to choose from. Best on a medium sized West swell and a medium tide.
This property is also located near Crystal Pier. Average sandbar peaks break on both sides of the pier. Works best on a medium tide.
This property is also located near Pacific Beach. A couple miles of shifting beach breaks. Sandy bottom.
