About this property

Giant's Foot Surf is located on the southern Pacific coast in the fishing pueblo of Playa Gigante, Nicaragua.  From the moment you arrive, our English speaking guides will take you in our boat to whatever break is working best based on that day's conditions.  A typical day starts with one of our local expert guides pounding on your door for dawn patrol, and ends with the boat pulling in at sundown with a great dinner on the way.  You won't have anything to worry about between sessions, because our ground crew makes sure all the meals are prepared and ready to go when you arrive so you can eat, rest up, and get right back out on the waves.

Our all-inclusive packages are designed to let you relax between sessions when you are on-shore.  We have an open beer and soft drink fridge guests have 24 hours access to that are stocked with local sodas, water, and Victoria and Toña, Nicaragua's excellent national lagers.  The biggest complaint we hear about other surf camps is that the food is terrible, so we pride ourselves on cooking solid, well rounded meals for our guests.  After all, we are eating, too, and no one wants to see rice and beans every meal.

Our beachfront lodge has two social areas, a palapa with hammocks, and beachside bedrooms with air conditioning and private bathrooms with shower.  Guests are free to grab a book from our extensive collection, watch a surf DVD, play a boardgame with the surf guides or your buddies, practice Spanish chit-chat with our local staff, or just relax in a hammock to relax between sessions.

Our most common breaks are Colorados, Panga Drops, Rancho Santana, and Manzanillo, but our boat means that other breaks like Maderas, Popoyo, and Outer Reef are well within reach when the conditions are right.  Our guides have the years of experience and local knowledge to know what is worth checking out.

Our primary goal is for our guests to have a great time, and get as much and more surfing in than they could have hoped for.  GFS is only open for business March through October because we don't want guests down the rest of the year, when there is a very good chance of getting skunked.  We are proud of our camp, and can't wait for you to come down to Nicaragua and join us for your vacation.

This property is located near Playa Gigante. Unfortunately a large headland extending west from beach protects Gigante from prevailing south swells. This is NOT a consistent surf spot. However, during the surf season (April-October) there are days when west or south west swell will wrap into the bay providing waves that offer typical beach break with rights and lefts. If there is surf, take advantage of it. Playa Gigante's best attribute is it's beautiful beach and the close proximity to other high caliber surf spots like Playa Colorado, Panga Drops, and Popoyo to the north and Manzanillo and Playa Madera to the south.

This property is also located near Panga Drops. A horseshoe shaped rock / beach break that produces some of the regions best waves. This wave can hold more size than nearby Playa Colorado, up to 3x overhead. Big drops and long walls can be expected. Intermediate to advanced.

This property is also located near Popoyo. The most well known break in the area. Rights and lefts break over rock bottom. A-frame that breaks on high tide (fat and workable) and low low tide(fast and hollow). Rarely unoccupied so look for the surfers in the water and you're there! The rights are more barreling, while the lefts are longer. There is a huge outer reef break too, experts only!
