Casa Ola Perfecta

Thoughts I want to pass on:

Our family enjoyed a perfect adventure vacation at Casa Ola Perfecta for a week this June (2012). You know you are in for a treat before you even get to the house. Rancho Playa Negra is a beautiful gated community right on the beach. The property itself has a large, secure lot, with a soft grassy walk, just steps down to the beach. The large house is attractive, well maintained, clean and quite. The views take your breath away from the moment you enter the house.

You don’t want to leave the well-equipped lower level with its outdoor kitchen, private bedroom suite and amazing pool/spa/lounge area. We often ate lunch (or snacked) on this level, having just come in from surfing or walking the tide pools. Lounging in the pool and sipping drinks while the sun sank into the horizon was just heavenly. The 2nd level is an amazing perch from which to watch surfers, the changing tides, sunset, and even horses running down the beach. Our family really liked the open floor plan and found the kitchen had everything we needed. The house is set up with TV/Cable, wireless, and stereo. There are games, a ping-pong table and magazines to keep you amused in the evening too. There was plenty of room for everyone to hang out together or get away for some quiet time on of the three lanais overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Our son picked the top bunk in the Surf decor Bunk Room because he’s never slept on a three-story bunk bed before. Our daughter loved the comfortable queen bed in the spacious Flip Flop Bedroom; while my husband and I enjoyed the huge master suite (with a king bed). We felt so spoiled staying here because of the house’s excellent amenities and the fact that we opted for daily maid service and sometimes carried out food from one of the local restaurants. We were surprised to find so many good restaurants in town – Café Playa Negra, Villa Deevena, and La Vida Buena Pizzeria. Make sure you get the ceviche from Café Playa Negra – wow!

We went running & mountain biking, rode horses, collected shells in the tide pools, lounged in the pool, and of course, surfed. Casa Ola Perfecta is perfectly located because there are really three surfing choices right outside the door. The kids and I walked south to gentle Sandy Beach. Intermediate surfers choose Pico – breaking right in front of Casa Ola Perfecta. The more adventurous prefer the break at Playa Negra (just steps away in front of Hotel Playa Negra – between Sandy Beach & Playa Negra). An afternoon jaunt to surf at Avellanas (and sip tropical drinks at Lola’s) was great fun too. This was one of our family’s favorite vacations because of the interesting wild life (monkeys, birds, iguanas), variety of activities (surfing!), sense of adventure (travelling around the area’s bumpy dirt roads in our 4-wheel drive vehicle), and the perfect house that felt like “home away from home”.
