About this property

Casa Creando Olas sits right on the beautiful, deserted beach of La Saladita, in Los Llanos, a little surfing town about 45 minutes northwest of Zihuatanejo. The house is very open to the natural surroundings so that guests can enjoy beach living to the fullest. It was constructed using local materials - the outsized palapa that covers the main portion of the house is truly a work of art and craftsmanship. The front doors are reclaimed from a demolished 1600’s church in a local town in the mountains. All the latches, handles and hinges throughout the house were made by a third-generation blacksmith using some of his grandfather’s molds.

While our goal was to create a house that harmonized with its surroundings and provided the closest experience to camping on the beach, we made sure to include some creature comforts and amenities. Casa Creando Olas has amazingly comfortable beds in all bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have air conditioning, if you choose to close up the room and turn it on. There’s a 50-foot pool, and an outdoor shower for rinsing off after surfing. We have supplied you with free WI-FI service for internet connection. A wonderful couple (Poli and Augustina) lives on the property full time to care for the grounds, provide daily maid service, and cook breakfast. Augustina is an amazing cook and will cook lunch and dinner as well if you would like.

Master bedroom: king bed, bathroom and large dressing area, open-to-the-stars shower.
Pool-side bedroom: king bed, air conditioning (but there are big glass doors so you don’t have to loose the view if you turn on the air), bathroom
“Communal” bedroom: divided room with four single beds, large bathroom.
Upstairs bedroom: two single beds, bathroom.
First floor bedroom: queen bed (or two singles), air conditioning, bathroom.

La Saladita is known for world-class surfing, and so attracts surfers from all over the world to its beautiful beaches, warm water and consistent left hand break. But surfing is not all there is to do.

$500 - $1250 per night depending on the season and availability.
Also we sometimes rent individual rooms at a lower rate if the house is not rented.

This property is located near La Saladita. La Saladita, aka the Wave Machine, is an exposed reef/point break that has consistent surf and is usually rideable year round. SW swells are ideal for this loooong left. A goofy foot longboarders dream, Saladita surf sessions offer long rides, good vibes and beautiful surroundings.

This property is also located near Troncones Point. A truly great left hand point that can break for long rides up to 200 meters offering big fast walls for the intermediate surfer. The bottom is rocky with occasional urchins on the inside so watch your step. Check the conditions from your hammock at one of the surf front homes. All in all this is a goofy foot paradise!

This property is also located near Troncones Beach. Beach break peaks up and down this 3 mile stretch. There are better surf spots nearby but with the right conditions this can be a really fun spot to pick your own peak and surf without a crowd. Recommended if you're staying in one of the beachfront homes or inns.

Overall Satisfaction:
Breaks Surfed: Saladita, The Ranch, Manzanilla
Favorite Break: Saladita
Wave/Swell Conditions: Head high and bigger!!! Clean conditions

Thoughts I want to pass on:

I'm in heaven!! Casa Creando Olas is just magnificent. Without a doubt, the best design
I have seen in this area. The "no windows" allows you to experience this outrageous
setting to the fullest!!! I am forever spoiled and will enjoy every single second that I'm

Today was sooo good with some head high sets. Tomorrow is supposed to be bigger and
last a few days so we couldn't be happier.

Poli and Augustina have been great. The food is wonderful as you said.

We love our room, the beds are terrific and we're sleeping like logs. It simply doesn't get
any better than this!

Thank you Mike!!!

Surf Rating:

Overall Satisfaction:
Breaks Surfed: La Saladita, The Ranch, beachies
Favorite Break: La Saladita
Wave/Swell Conditions: Very Good

Thoughts I want to pass on:

Very nice accommodation, location, caretakers and owner. Great for both a romantic, tranquil getaway (lots of lounging around the pool and reading) and a surf trip (don't overlook the beachbreak out front!). Unless you're planning on surfing The Ranch or Troncones a bunch, I wouldn't bother renting a car as everything you need is within a 10-minute walk of Creando Olas. Small children might have difficulty with the slippery main floor (from sea spray).

This is a great Wavecation for:

Short Board
Families with Teens
Travelers without a Car
