About this property
Luxury Condo for Rent in Dana Point overlooking Monarch Beach
Our luxury vacation condo is part of a small 8 unit complex on the Dana Point Headlands at Strands Beach. Over the years we've hosted pro surfers, Olympic swimmers, and a few of the elite champions from the Battle of the Paddle. The beach access is three doors away and our property borders the Dana Point Marine Life Refuge with hiking trails around the headland.
Surfing and Stand Up Paddling
The surf break directly in front of property is Strands, and Salt Creek is just a short walk up the beach. Dana Point Harbor is a few hundred yards to the south side of the headland, where you can enjoy paddleboarding or kayaking in the sheltered waters. At the south end of the harbor is Doheny State Park, and the surf is perfect for longboards and paddlesurfing. The world-class surfing of Trestles and San Onofre are only ten minutes south, and the secluded beaches and great shops and restaurants of Laguna are only ten minutes to the north on PCH.
Dana Point is home to some of the world's best paddle board spots and races (like the annual Paddle for the Battle). We can arrange surfboards or paddleboards upon request, as well as lessons and training from first-timers to advanced levels. This condo is the perfect rental if you're coming to the area for a SUP race. You'll have full access to the garage where you can store your race boards and the owner himself is an avid racer and knows just what you'll need.

This property is located near Strands Beach. Beach breaks that work on any swell. Limited access to the beach and a long walk down make this an uncrowded spot. The reward is a beautiful and uncrowded beach with surf potential.
This property is also located near Salt Creek. Salt Creek is actually comprised of 3 or 4 different breaks along this stretch of beautiful coastline. From A frames to beach break, wedgy sections to a point break, Salt Creek surf area has it all. Salt Creek Point lies furthest south (in front of the headland occupied by the Ritz Carlton Laguna Nigel) and provides fun left hand point waves with a crowded take off. Middles is a hundred yards or so north where surfers can find fun peaks, hollow or thick depending on the tide. Walk a little further north and you'll come to Gravels which offers a grindy right breaking in very shallow water.
This property is also located near Doheny. Once home to one of California greatest point breaks, Doheny is now a mellow summer time wave best suited for longboards. South swells on a medium to low tide work best. A great place to surf with the family all day. There are several surf peaks to choose from, starting at the breakwall all the way to the rivermouth. Water quality here has a bad reputation.

Thoughts I want to pass on:
Wow, what an incredible location! The views were spectacular as you can see in the photos. The condo complex was very quiet as well as neat and tidy. The owner of this unit keeps the place incredibly well maintained, I think he's a neat freak... the best kind of person to rent from :) I was staying alone on business but the unit would be great for two couples or a family of four. I surfed with a friend at Strands, just below the condo. It's about a 7 minute walk or 4 minute jog down the sidewalk and steps to the beach. It's a beach break and had some fun peaks during my stay and was glassy every morning.
It's only about a 10 minute drive to San Onofre where we spent long hours longboarding, paddle boarding and just chilling. Dana Point is an upscale area so the prices are a bit high but it's such a unique coastal town I'd say this condo is worth every penny.
