Our studio in the "Makaha Shores" is located on the Waianae Coast of Oahu, Hawaii. About an hour away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, it is a great place to "get away". Relax to the soothing sound of the surf on the lanai of this fifth floor studio and enjoy the beautiful ocean view. It is just a few minutes stroll to the beach or on-grounds pool.
The Makaha Shores is just yards away from the beach. Makaha beach is great for surfing, swimming, snorkeling, diving, and sunbathing! It is rarely crowded, unless you are there during the various surf competitions that are held annually. Makaha has become a popular snorkeling and diving spot for the Sea Turtles living just beyond the reef.
There are always plenty of surfers, sometimes canoe races, and various boats come and go. Watch for whales in the winter. Schools of dolphin occasionally "entertain" the swimmers and boaters, you can watch it all from the lanai! Sometimes even Monk Seals rest for days right in front of the building. In the winter months you can also enjoy some breathtaking sunsets from the lanai.
About an hour away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, it is a great place to "get away". Two twin beds face the doors to the lanai, so you can enjoy the view of the ocean while you lounge. The unit features a fully equipped kitchen and full size bathroom. Other amenities include cable TV, ceiling fan, and telephone.
A coin operated laundry facility is located on the ground floor. A reserved parking spot is available in the lower parking deck. The lovely pool area is reserved for Makaha Shores guests only.

Surf
This property is located near Makaha. A classic Hawaiian wave filled with history. The right hand point break offers up surf pretty much everyday of the year. You'll see all sorts of craft in the water here; longboard, shortboard, SUP, canoe, and more. While Makaha is known as a friendly place this is not Waikiki so don't take off on someone else's wave, even if they've been taking off on yours. This is not the place to show up with an attitude. Be very respectful of the locals, this is their wave.
