Looking to score some surf on the Great Lakes?  You may have some luck staying at The Surf Cottage in Harbor Springs.  While this area certianly isn't known for it's consistent surf, there are waves on occasion... just look at the pics!  Your best best is a longboard or SUP to catch the small wind waves and remember freshwater waves don't float you as much so you'll need more board. 

New in 2006, The Surf Cottage cabin style home has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a total living area 2,400 sq. ft. Plenty of room to spread out. This house is truly designed with the family in mind, with separate spaces for the grown-ups, and little ones alike. Vintage Mod, Baby! It's luxurious, with a retro feel - sure to evoke a flashback or two. Located in Harbor Springs opposite Lake Michigan on the famous Tunnel of Trees - a top destination for bicyclists. You're close to such vacation spots as, Petoskey (25 min.), Cross Village (25 min.), and The Inland Water Way (30 min.). Not to mention your only 40 minutes to The Straits of Mackinaw, and all that area has to offer! Ferrys to Mackinac Island, Waterpark, Resataunts, Fort Michilimackinac, etc.... Oh don't forget about Fudge!! Atop this 130' bluff, witness panoramic views that will allow you to see all the way to Charlevoix, and on some days even Beaver Island! Enjoy these views from the home as well as from the meandering bluffside staircase, with secluded sun deck that leads to the very private sandy frontage on Lake Michigan.

Reminiscent of America's Pacific Northwest, this is the secluded beach you have dreamed of. You can walk for miles up, and down the beach without seeing a single person.
