About this property

"Blessed with off shore winds, point and beach breaks"

Miramar Surfcamp, in the North of Nicaragua, offers more than just the average wave. Blessed with off shore winds, point and beach breaks, it provides sets for all levels of surfers, all year round.

During the surf season from March to October waves peak at 12ft and experienced surfers can easily access them on foot or by boat. For less than a five minute boat ride to Puerto Sandino, experienced surfers can carve 15ft+, 100 meter long waves.

But at this rare uncrowded haven, where the waves range between 3-8ft, it’s also an ideal place for learners. There is no need for a wet suit as the water is warm and perfect if you just want to catch those last quick waves at sunset.

"Nicaragua is a growing surfing destination"

Consisting of two large complexes, the camp has 13 rooms, from beach front to dorms, located right in front of the Punta Miramar. There is a large open communal area with great viewing of the surf, amazing sunsets and a place to hang out. There is also a training area for surf training, yoga, meditating and any other kind of personal training you want.

But there is more on offer than just surfing. You can also try kayaking down the mangroves, motorbiking, paddle boarding, swimming or sun bathing on secluded beaches. Tours to the city of Leon are also an option, where you can experience its revolutionary history and culture, visit the largest cathedral in Central America and taste the delicious local food.

Nicaragua is a naturally growing destination for people all around the world- from the surfing community and those seeking sunshine, culture and relaxation. It is accessible to get around and easy due to the friendly nature of the locals.

4 reasons to choose Miramar Surf Camp:

  1. Off shore winds, point and beach breaks for all levels of surfers, all year round.
  2. Uncrowded and easily accessible waves by foot or boat.
  3. A variety of rooms for all types of holiday makers, from beach front to dorms.
  4. Optional activities include kayaking, motorbiking, paddle boarding, or tours to the city of Leon.

This property is located near Asuchillo. Located at the north end of the Gran Pacifica development is the Asuchillo beach break, which has a number of A frame peaks to choose from that can pump out beautiful almond shaped barrels. This break is fun for all surfing abilities, experienced and/or beginners. It's about a 30 minute walk along the beach from the Las Perlas condos and main pool area or 5-10 by car or golf cart.

This property is also located near Punta Miramar. This beautiful left hander breaks over a rock reef bottom but still has a deep takeoff. The wave can be heavy with some nice barrel sections that flow into a softer section before it hits the inside and throws again. Provides long rides on the better days. Works normally on high tide and on low tide during big swells. Also known as "la Jamaicana" or "Miramar". Holds any size of swell.

This property is also located near Pipes. A-Frame Beach Break with a flat reef on the lefts. This wave has long lefts and rights and will barrel on most swells and works well on all tides.

This property is also located near Puerto Sandino. This is the most popular spot in the area. An offshore break with boat access only. A very long left over a sand bar with rocks on the inside. This wave can be very fast and hollow at times and provide long rides. Also know as "freight trains" or "La Barra" works on low tide and the boats leave in front of Miramar Surf Camp.

This property is also located near The Boom. A world class beach break, this thundering wave's "boom" can be heard from far away. Multiple peaks set up along a sandy beach throwing tropical A-frame tubes in shallow water allowing for some epic barrels.
