Directly in front of Popoyo Beach Lodge you will find one of the most consistent river mouth beach breaks in Nicaragua. You can't get any closer to the beach than the two steps off the porch!
The lodge was constructed in a style typical of tropical Nicaragua with high open ceilings in the common areas to catch the cross breeze and a huge covered porch leading to the beach to enjoy the outdoor living space in the comfort of the shade. The floors are constructed of authentic locally crafted Granada floor tiles and intricately carved temple doors adorn the walls.
Inside the lodge there is a communal kitchen that comes fully supplied with dishware, pots, pans and cooking utensils and a large oven and refrigerator.
The LODGE easily sleeps 12 in full beds dispersed throughout 5 bedrooms - each with AC and WiFi - the huge shaded porch that is two steps off the salt and pepper sand beach is perfect for doing YOGA, reading in a hammock, or simply having a cold drink watching the sun set over the Pacific Ocean while the wild horses run by on the beach!
The Lodge can be rented in it's entirety for $300/night or for as little as $40/night for a single room. Villas at Two Brothers Surf Resort start as just $100/night and have full access to the Beach Lodge property using it as a shaded retreat while taking a break from the waves directly out front.
Popoyo Beach Lodge is owned and operated by Susan and Robert Gregory who created Two Brothers Surf Resort located on "the hill" just 1/2 kilometer behind the Lodge. If you are looking for a more private all-inclusive surf vacation, they can provide it all at Two Brothers while still having the use of the Beach Lodge property. Staying at Two Brothers all inclusive provides the best of both worlds; amazing all encompassing views from the hill, private villas, pool, boat trips, great meals AND access to the Beach Lodge! Two Brothers will happily accommodate you at either location.
The SURF: In front of the proeprty is a hollow tubular right and left, with several take off points. It sits in front of a river mouth, sand bottom, breaks on all tides. Surfable from knee high to triple over head.

Surf
This property is located near Guasacate. Beach breaks peel left and right along this mile of beach bordered by rivermouths on each end. Hollow thumping tubes that work best in the wet season. A good surf area often overlooked by those headed to Popoyo.
This property is also located near Popoyo. The most well known break in the area. Rights and lefts break over rock bottom. A-frame that breaks on high tide (fat and workable) and low low tide(fast and hollow). Rarely unoccupied so look for the surfers in the water and you're there! The rights are more barreling, while the lefts are longer. There is a huge outer reef break too, experts only!
