This property is located near Turtle Bay. Turtle Bay is one of the North Shore's least surfed spots, mainly due to the fact that it's furthest north and doesn't break as big as often. The Hans Hedemann surf school operates out of Turtle Bay Resort and gives surf and paddle board lessons here on small days. The main waves are Kuilima Point and and "Pool Bars" closest to the cliff. The bottom is a rocky patch reef. Bigger in the winter, small to flat in the summer. On the other side of the bay is "stables" which is sometimes worth checking out if it looks like it's breaking.
This property is also located near Velzyland. One of the most localized and crowded spots on the North Shore. Swells are slowed by outer reefs like Phantoms before breaking onto a sharp lava reef, producing fast right bowls and rippable walls before a square inside barrel section. Less crowded but shorter lefts can be had however there is no channel to paddle back out. Mid tide with light SE and small to medium NW swell works best. Experts or pros only, otherwise you are be better off at Freddyland across the channel.
This property is also located near Backyards. Great for windsurfing or surfing. Backyards is mostly a right semi point break with a rocky/reefy bottom but also offers some sketchy lefts. Intermediate to advanced. This break can handle the big winter juice.
This property is also located near Castle Beach. A great place for beginner's to learn to surf. The trade winds are onshore but when the winds are calm this can be a great and uncrowded longboard and SUP break. Also paddle out to Goat Island and catch some waves or walk out there on low tide.

Thoughts I want to pass on:
One of the best vacations of our life! My wife and I went went another couple (friends from college) and stayed in an ground floor Ocean Villa at Turtle Bay. It was one of the few accommodation that upon first seeing it I was truly blown away. Everything was immaculate, extremely high end finishing. They had the coolest dishwasher drawers I've ever seen, one on each side of the sink so you never had to load or unload dishes!
The location is ideal for a surfer/non-surfer combo trip. Each morning I would drive ten minutes down to someplace like Rocky Point or just paddle out right at Turtle Bay and surf for an hour or two while everyone woke up. Then we ate breakfast and would grab the paddleboards and paddle right in front of the Villas. We saw so many turtle's we stopped even noticing them... I guess that's why it's called Turtle Bay. We didn't spend much time in the hotel proper, but we had dinner one night at the restaurant and it was very good. Like I said, this was one of our favorite trips ever and we all talk about returning one day soon. Totally recommended for surfers traveling with their families or friends. They even have a surf school onsite if others in your group are looking for a surf or paddleboard lesson. The ladies in our group LOVED the pool right outside our door.
This is a great Wavecation for:

Horseback riding on the beach at Kawela Bay Beach Park
Surfboard rentals in nearby Haleiwa
Gorgeous guest rooms with ocean and beach views
