Santa Teresa is a tropical beach town in Puntarenas, Costa Rica. The picturesque and long stretch of coastline is full of jungle-front, white sandy beaches and wonderful surf. The area has developed into a popular destination as an eco-tourism and surf destination. Plenty of options are available in the area for all types of travelers: rustic campsites to luxury accommodations, simple to fine-dining restaurants, and endless adventurous activities.
The Break
Also known as Rocamar. Suck Rock is a powerful and crumbly, sometimes barreling, short to normal right point break. The break works well at all tides, but it is best at low tide. This is easily considered a local favorite and one of the best waves along the beach. Shortboards, bodyboards, and funboards are all good here. Consistency is year-round.
About the Access
Public beach access road at La Lora Amarillo night club/Rocamar restaurant. Parking under the coconut trees, but beware of break-ins.
