Atami is a quiet town in La Libertad, El Salvador. Playa El Parmacito is a short, sandy beach with a mellow vibe and basic amenities. Travellers can choose to stay in private complexes, boutique hotels, or simpler hostels that offer simple to luxurious comforts in an area where there's a strong emphasis to connect with nature and the ocean. If not the local bars and restaurants offering traditional dishes and fresh seafood, nearby and well-developed cities of El Tunco and La Libertad are short drives away. Surf camps offer lessons, rentals, and organized trips.
The Break
Also known as El Palmar. Palmarcito is a barreling short to normal right beach break. Playa El Palmarcito may be small, however, it's a great location for beginner and intermediate surfers looking for a consistent spot to improve their techniques. Longboards and funboards are ideal here. Consistency is year-round with the biggest swell in summer.
