Las Peñitas is a small and sleepy coastal village in Leon, Nicaragua. The name describes the "little rocks" and small boulders that are peppered in the sand. The town has a few beachfront hotels, budget hostels, local shops, restaurants, and bars at your service. Surf rentals and lessons are offered near the beach and in town.
The Break
Las Peñitas is a mellow, normal, right and left point break. It is a great wave for beginner surfers and intermediate surfers who prefer consistent and fun waves at a relatively unknown break. It's located right in front of Playa Roca Beach Hotel. Longboards are ideal here. Consistency is high year-round.
