The Break

Kahalu'u Bay has a few different waves to offer. The reef breaks can range from mellow to powerful, normal to long and go both left and right. The paddle out is towards the rock at the edge of the breakwater. Longboards are ideal here. Consistency is year-round.

The Area

Kahalu'u Beach Park is a gray sand beach that attracts many visitors and is the most popular swimming and snorkeling spot in the Kona district. It is located at the southern end of Ali'i Drive near mile marker 4. St. Peters Catholic Church is a landmark on the north end of the bay.
