- Bedroom 11 Queen , 2 Twins
Located in Central Baja, Mexico, Punta Abreojos boasts some great reef breaks and insane natural scenery in a comfortable, safe, and beautiful environment. The famous point break of Punta Abreojos is a few hundred yards walk from the lodge. There are multiple breaks for the different tides, but always something interesting.
For kite and wind surfers, the afternoons of Punta Abreojos display probably the most consistent off shore winds found anywhere in the world.
We offer fully guided trips from San Diego to Loreto to Punta Abreojos at additional cost, but most guests get to the lodge themselves. Either way guests will be welcomed with ice cold ceviche and drinks. The chef is included, and so are most home cooked meals, drinks, alcohol, but specialty items like lobster or steaks are additional costs.
**Different room layouts are available for groups between 2 to 4. Please confirm room type while booking. (1 Queen & 2 Twins, 4 twins, 1 King)
We also offer excursions to local sites, including whales in the spring, and the estuary year round.
Our concierge could arrange for local fishing boats in the town, or help with any of your local needs.
This is our first year open, and we look forward to making long term friends with our fellow Baja adventurers.
Punta Abreojos is off the beaten path—that is why we love it so much. From San Diego, it is 565 miles to the town of Punta Abreojos. It will take 12 to 14 hours driving depending on how much you stop to explore.
Others fly to Loreto and rent a car, or even better, a Jeep. From Loreto it is about 220 miles north and west through some of the most picturesque ocean desert environments to be found anywhere. This journey usually takes us about 5 hours.
For our guided trips, we pay for flights, CBX, tourist fees, airport fees, hotel in Loreto, a full time Spanish speaking guide, and transportation to and from Loreto in our custom 12 passenger van with gear rack.
The town of Punta Abreojos has about 1500 inhabitants. The town has limited tourism, but more than you would expect in the way of services. The small restaurants are wonderful, groceries and liquor stores round out most people's needs. The local fishing coop sells the freshest seafood, and can arrange fishing trips on their boats with experienced captains.
At the lodge, we have a small store for sundries, sunglasses, clothing, and fishing gear. We cater to our guests so please let us know your needs and we will see how to help.
You do not need a 4x4, but it is really fun to explore the beaches and other areas with one.
Also known as Punta Perfecta. Punta Abreojos is a powerful, and barreling, long to very long right point/reef break. Shortboards, funboards, and longboards are all good here. Summer months provide the best conditions.
