Blanca's Beachfront Bungalows are a great choice for the solo surfer or a couple looking to be right on the water and enjoy something a little more relaxed. Bungalow #8 is located four doors south from Lourdes' Bar & Grill and right beach front, situated at the ideal spot to paddle out to the wave, or cozy up in your hammock in the palm grove and relax. This is the IDEAL Saladita surf bungalow as you couldn't be closer to the peak!
Bungalow #8 is one of Blanca's brand new bungalows, inaugurated in spring of 2019. It offers ample ocean views and cozy sand all around the bungalow for sunning and relaxing. There is a wraparound porch with chairs and a table to enjoy a cup of coffee or watch the surf. In less than 20 steps you can be soaking your toes in the Pacific!
The bungalow has a king size bed with a mosquito net, A/C, ceiling fans, oscillating fan, small refrigerator, filtered water included and a coffee maker.
This comfortable room has wooden shutters all around that can remain closed, or open them all up to enjoy the ocean breeze, and close the white cotton curtains when you need a little privacy. There's also glass that can be closed to keep out the ocean chill.
Behind the bedroom is the large private bathroom that has a large vanity made of one beautiful piece of locally harvested wood and the toilet, as well as the standing shower with hot water that looks out onto the jungle. There is also an outside shower on the front lawn for rinsing off after surfing!
The bungalow is just a few steps away from the sand as well as Lourdes' Bar & Grill. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served there as well as drinks, smoothies and snacks.
La Saladita is a sleepy little surf village where you can walk most anywhere barefoot, and besides surfing there's not much to do but relax and swing in a hammock. There's a very small community of locals and expats who call Saladita home, and there's a continual flow of visitors that return year after year to Saladita for its consistent year round surf. There are 5 beachfront restaurants, most shutter by dark with the exception of Lourdes' Bar & Grill which is open until 9:30pm. The latter accepts credit cards, while most of the village only accepts cash.
There's no need for a vehicle here, unless of course you want to explore the nearby town of Troncones which is 25 minutes to the south, or other surf breaks like the Ranch and Palo Alto, which are about 30 to 45 minutes driving to the north.
There are local taxis that can take you anywhere you need to go. You can find a driver at Lourdes' Surf Shop where they tend to hang out.
The closest town is Los Llanos where there are a few small grocery stores and an ATM. There are also multiple tacos stands and rotisserie chicken restaurants, should you tire of the fare on the beach. Los Llanos is about 10 minutes inland from the beach.
There's a small grocery store at Tortas & Mariscos Kevin, on the road just before you arrive to the beach that offers simple grocery items as well as fresh baked bread in the mornings.
Also known as Ubilam, or Malibu spelled backwards. La Saladita, the Wave Machine, is a mellow and crumbly left reef/point break. Saladita surf sessions offer long rides, good vibes, and beautiful surroundings. Waves here are a goofy foot longboarder's dream. Consistency is year-round with best conditions during summer.
