Our jungle setting overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is an outstanding sunset watching spot.

We offer transportation from Managua Airport and San Juan del Sur for an extra price.
To make roaming around easier, we provide shuttle service to the best surf spots in the area. Nightly shuttles to town for those willing to indulge in post-surf parties can be arranged on demand.
Our location in Nicaragua ranks among the top destinations for surfers mainly because of the consistency in weather optimal for surfing year-round. This area prides itself on >330 days of offshore winds per year. This means perfect surf conditions all day every day! Nicaragua has more than 250 km of coastline on the Pacific Ocean.
Nicaragua’s surf capital San Juan del Sur is a 30-minute drive from the campsite. The area is home to the country’s most legendary surf spots, suitable for both beginners and pros alike. At our Nicaragua surf camp, we offer surf lessons by experienced and knowledgeable local instructors.
There are two main seasons in Nicaragua; the green or wet season (aka the low season), and the dry or hot season (aka the high season). The green season is from May to November which is the time frame when the Pacific coast gets hit with the biggest swells and most consistent surf. These months are prime time for the more experienced surfer to consider surfing Nicaragua. Also, there tends to be not as much tourism during that season while south swells are in full swing and waves are often consistently overhead and good to epic. January and February experience the strongest winds and upwelling so the water tends to be a bit colder than normal. The waves usually are the smallest this time of year which is ideal for beginner surfers.
Playa Maderas is a mellow, normal to long beach break that goes both right and left. The primary peak goes right and breaks in the middle of the beach. The secondary peak is a bit further south, and is shorter, faster, and goes left. Shortboards, longboards, and funboards all work well here. Consistency is high year-round with fun, ridable waves year-round.
