Casa Mañana is located in the Surf Side development called Costa Dulce just past the little town of Escamecita - 14km south of San Juan del Sur. We are within walking distance (10 minutes) to two amazing waves. Playa Yankee for advanced surfers and Playa Escameca for all levels. Our property has an ocean view and is located on the hillside with trails accessible to other private beaches within a 5 minute walk. The views and nature are incredible; a special off the beaten path location.
We are the best situated accommodation provider for accessing two waves within 10 minutes, comfortable walking distance. The other camps / hotels have to drive or have a difficult walk. You can access a private beach and tide pools in one minute.
The house is a rustic cottage style home within just a few minutes walk to the ocean. The home features 3 bedrooms plus a kitchen, yoga space and hammock front porch area. There is a shared kitchen and living space, plus a shared bathroom. The host lives on site to make it more comfortable, but the whole house can be rented out without the host being there. Just send an inquiry!
The house has 2 bedrooms with a queen bed in each room. The main essentials are here, but the area is very undeveloped so having a vehicle would be useful so you can drive to the store. It would be best to arrive with your groceries or plan ahead with the host to make sure you will have ample drinking water and groceries upon arrival. You can drive to the town of Escamecita where there are a few good local restaurants and bars. There is no main grocery store here and the town of San Juan del Sur is 14km away. You will find a few small pulperias in Escamecita where you can buy beverages and small items.
Guests will have access to the whole house except the host's bedroom. If you need to rent the whole house without the host onsite, that can be arranged. Please send an inquiry. The host can also prepare breakfast and dinner for an additional cost if the host is staying onsite but conversations need to be had in advance so the host can plan according to your needs.
Bring comfortable walking and hiking shoes as the beaches are accessible by single track trails through the jungle. Reef shoes are useful. There is a restaurant on one beach for meals and sunset cocktails as we only provide a full healthy organic breakfast and dinner with organic meats or fresh caught seafood. Dietary requests are accepted with advance notice. We are primarily gluten-free. Vegetarian meals are available.
It’s a very unique area off the beaten path. We are off-the-beaten path, but you can meet and mingle with other travelers and locals at nearby beaches. It’s located in nature at the sea side without many people around unless you walk to neighboring beaches for socializing. Local Nicaraguan and expats live in the area and it’s easy to make friends if you are outgoing. Most people speak a little English, but be prepared to speak Spanish. The host speaks both English and Spanish.
Also known as Costa Dulce. Playa Escameca has a variety of mellow and crumbly beach breaks that go right and left. Escameca Right: this is a point break with a sandy bottom which is very consistent and fun. Escameca Left: A river mouth/point break (Rio Escameca). On a big south swell, waves easily become barrels. Lineups are often empty, giving surfers all the waves they can handle! All boards work well here, depending on the waves. Consistency is high year-round with the biggest swell in winter.
