Long Caye Adventure Camp is an off-the-grid Belize family resort powered by renewable energy and a great place to relax. Our spacious island (13.5 acres) and rustic facilities ensure your comfort without compromising the adventure of living on an undeveloped and uncrowded island.
Everyone stays in huts on the water, perched right above the surf. Each Belize cabana has beds in the main part of the cabin, and a large porch with hammocks and lounge chairs. Luggage benches and a small closet are provided and the cabins are lit with solar-powered lights. The cabanas are on the windy side of the island; on the lee side lies one of the best beaches in Belize, with all of the sport toys rigged right there and ready for you to hop into the water. Whether you want to kayak, surf, swim, paddle, or sail, we've got the gear for you.
Slickrock owns an island at Glover’s Atoll, called Long Caye, where we offer island vacation holidays. Our private island is located on the outer reef of Glovers Reef Belize. Glover’s Reef is one of only four atolls found in our hemisphere, which alone makes it an unusual and special place to explore. Three of the four atolls in the western hemisphere can be found in Belize country waters (the fourth atoll, Banco Chinchorro, lies just north in Mexican waters). Glover’s Reef is a protected Marine Reserve.
Glover's Reef is a punchy normal to long right point break. Surf breaks in the country are rare, yet waves here are very active, accessible, and offer plenty of fun. Due to the private access of the island, lineups are only shared with island guests. Longboards, funboards, and SUPs work well here. Kitesurfing, windsurfing, and kayak surfing are also popular options. Consistency is year-round, with winter offering the best conditions. Booties are highly recommended due to the reef and rocky seabed.
