The Point House sits right on the point at one of the choicest points to paddle out in all of Saladita. You can literally check the surf from the doorway, and in less than 15 steps be paddling out. Also, conveniently located right next door to Lourdes' Bar & Grill, so you're never far from the scene.
This large apartment has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and a kitchen well equipped for cooking for a crowd. This house is in need of some TLC, but the location is unparalleled, thus the accessible price point. While quite austere it's the perfect spot for a large crew who is interested in surfing, surfing and more surfing!
Two bedrooms have two full size beds in each room with large closets and windows that look onto the back palm grove area where there's also parking.
The larger bedroom has three beds—two full size beds and one king size bed. This room also has a large closet. All bedrooms have A/C.
Each bedroom has its own corresponding bathroom. There are three bathrooms that all have a sink, toilet and standing shower with cold water. One of the bathrooms is en suite situated inside the larger bedroom.
Off the large common area is the kitchen with a small refrigerator, large refrigerator/freezer, industrial 6 burner gas stove/oven and basin sink with ample counter space for prep work. Dishes, utensils, coffee maker, and pots and pans are provided as well as filtered water.
There are tables and chairs in the common area, as well as a large wooden dining table and chairs on the porch outside for dining al fresco.
The house is cleaned every 3rd day by Cesar's attentive cleaning staff.
You'll share the large front porch which looks right onto the ocean with any renters (2 max) in the small apartment on the southern end of the house, but there's plenty of room for everyone. In front of the porch is your own beach area with plenty of chairs and chaise lounges to relax and sunbathe, or watch the surf. There's also a gated fence all around the porch to keep in little ones.
The house is located right next door to Lourdes' Bar & Grill so you can easily pop over for a meal, and you'll be right in the mix with the local surf scene. While things are usually pretty relaxed, and they close at 9:30pm, you may hear music from next door, as this apartment is right next door to the restaurant.
La Saladita is a sleepy little surf village where you can walk most anywhere barefoot, and besides surfing there's not much to do but relax and swing in a hammock. There's a very small community of locals and expats who call Saladita home, and there's a continual flow of visitors that return year after year to Saladita for its consistent year round surf. There are 5 beachfront restaurants, most shutter by dark with the exception of Lourdes' Bar & Grill which is open until 9:30pm. The latter accepts credit cards, while most of the village only accepts cash.
There's no need for a vehicle here, unless of course you want to explore the nearby town of Troncones which is 25 minutes to the south, or other surf breaks like the Ranch and Palo Alto, which are about 30 to 45 minutes driving to the north.
There are local taxis that can take you anywhere you need to go. You can find a driver at Lourdes' Surf Shop where they tend to hang out.
The closest town is Los Llanos where there are a few small grocery stores and an ATM. There are also multiple tacos stands and rotisserie chicken restaurants, should you tire of the fare on the beach. Los Llanos is about 10 minutes inland from the beach.
There's a small grocery store at Tortas & Mariscos Kevin, on the road just before you arrive to the beach that offers simple grocery items as well as fresh baked bread in the mornings.
Also known as Ubilam, or Malibu spelled backwards. La Saladita, the Wave Machine, is a mellow and crumbly left reef/point break. Saladita surf sessions offer long rides, good vibes, and beautiful surroundings. Waves here are a goofy foot longboarder's dream. Consistency is year-round with best conditions during summer.
